Our Private Game Reserve is located in the Western Waterberg/Limpopo region of South Africa. We are 3.5 hours away from the Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. Our sister property - River Lodge - is located 20 minutes away from Sable Plains. It is positioned directly on the banks of the iconic Limpopo River bordering Botswana.

No. Sable Plains is situated in a completely malaria-free zone. You do not need to take malaria prophylactics before or during your stay. We recommend you consult your doctor regarding general travel vaccinations for South Africa. In our personal experience, we have not gotten any vaccines to be in our Reserve in the last 4 years.

We offer (at additional cost) transportation with a trusted driver we have used many times for family and friends. If you prefer, you can also rent a vehicle, but you will not be using it in the Game Reserve, as only Reserve vehicles are allowed to drive in our property.
